I REMEMBER, I LIKE, I WANT TO SEE...
Environmental Graphics
Celebrating our 25th Anniversary weekend, these three interactive panels were installed in the entry tunnel for visitors to share their thoughts, memories, and hopes for the future of the Autry. Simple in execution, the graphics are silkscreened over chalkboard paint, allowing for the messages left by our guests to constantly evolve.
Throughout the week, responses are collected by staff to inform future projects and decisions. Messages left by visitors run the gamut of drawings, honest answers, and whimsy, proving museums need not be static environments.
A welcome change from the previous, decade old messaging in this location, these graphics are one of many steps to be taken in 2014 to update environmental graphics within the museum. The panels are designed to be repurposed later in the year, to promote daily and upcoming events and an introduction to the history of the institution.
